Roman Mythology
Mother Earth/Earth Mother
All life began with her
Goddess of Death
This is the name of a vast primordial giantess in the classical mythology of Greece and Rome. GAIA, also known as GE and GAEA, was depicted as a gigantic female being. She was the mother figure who produced PONTUS and URANUS and by him the giant races of TITANS, the CYCLOPES, and HECATONCHERIRES (HUNDRED-HANDED-GIANTS), the FURIES. From the depths of Tartarus she produced the monstrous TYPHON, and by PONTUS she produced NEREUS, PHORCYS, and THAUMUS.
